Little Nemo

A story filled with imagination and surreal adventure is the simplest way I can put Little Nemo.  Little Nemo influenced most of the comics industry to be what it is today. Its use of story telling through out the whole comic is envisioned so masterfully; the story arcs and interesting characters are what lead you to wanting to read more.

The artwork is what I think strikes me the most when first viewing it. The vivid colors and realistic world counter balanced with the cartoony characters are what makes this story so believable. Further viewing the images in each panel I notice the decisive choice to have the panels be apart of the whole page composition, as if Winsor was using his panels to create a illustration in itself.

Excitement grew with each page only to be surprised by it’s unpredictable story and characters. Visualizing each setting was made so easily because of the creative and open feel to the story. Definitely a groundbreaking comic for what it did and the time period that it was released in.
